I have not seen any posts. Is anyone running for President at the upcoming meeting?

I want to run for the President of the Alex Bealer Blacksmith Association. I have the time to focus on the duties of the president. Even better I can pursue blacksmithing full time. The best part is I will be acquiring a business location for my shop.

I have the skills of a Sales Executive who worked in Healthcare Information Technology for twenty-eight years I am good on the phone. I can talk with anybody easily. I will not be afraid to use phone, email, inperson visits and even bribery to get monthly meetings scheduled with great learning events by skilled masters teaching the members new skills. I began working in metal and jewelry in 1975. I have been working with steel in reconstruction of medieval and ancient armour since 1975. When I began in 1975, we had no experienced smiths in the U.S.. So I researched in the library, used my metal working skills, and trial and error to create helmets, gauntlets, and body armour, so that we could actually practice the fighting skills in armour of historical period and civilizations.

My computer skills with Windows and Microsoft office are excellent. I believe the future of our website would be greatly enhanced by obtaining a new host. I was in a civil war re-enacting regiment, 42 GA, we had the same problem as ABBA does: our website was on a server hosted by someone who we could never get to answer a phone. We investigated alternative hosting by a real business. We found out it was not a great expensive annual cost. I will check with my old friends and get more details on current costs for ongoing annual support.

Now as far as the proposal to use the land in Riverdale, GA, I think it could be a great idea. But I believe like Dan Tull, this could be a really big project. Ken has the desire, but not much time to be president and project leader. My suggestion is that we vote on the project and have his commitment as project manager. I could take the job as president and devote myself to the task of being president of ABBA.
I am available to address any concerns. I want to be your President!
