Let's get some Coke from Drumonds in Birmingham,AL

Hello Clubmembers:

I understand that we can purchase one ton of coke for $40.00 in Birmingham Al. Who has a truck that could carry 2,000 lbs of coke?
Houston

How about some good metalurgical coal?

I'd worked thru a couple of hundred pounds of coke to test it out, but would prefer good coal instead. (having said that, $40 for a ton is interesting . . . ). Can we find a similar deal for coal?

Jim Batson, at JCCFS bladesmithing class, last week, told me that this is good blacksmith's coke not the metallurgical stuff. It is clean with no impurities.

The craig's list coal is too big. Good blacksmiths coal is thumb sized chunks with low levels of sulfur and mercury. Most of America coal is high and sulfur and mercury and not suitable for forge use.

What I really want is hardwood charcol.
