Fireplace tool stand (what's been occupying my weekends)

Here's a fireplace tool set I made for my son for Christmas. A a big deer hunter, I thought he would appreciate the elk antler incorporated into it (at 32", it gives him something to hope for!). The tools are basically the same from Jeff Mohr's "Blacksmithing for Home and Hearth", but the stand is of my own design.

Stand without the tools in the way:

The central shaft twists around the antler. I used a piece of PVC pipe as a form for this shaft. By heating it with a propane torch, I was able to bend it to the final shape without damaging the antler. Then I forged the shaft to that shape.

Nice!

Thanks for sharing.

Excellent!

I like it. :)

I agree, very nice. As to shooting Bambi, the Bambi's ate so much from my gardens, I have no regrets eating them!
