I saw a similar bender at the John C Campbell "Tools and Jigs" class.

It's constructed out of 1" square stock. To use, insert a disk matching the size bend needed. Put the shortest arm of the bender in a vise, stick the piece to be bent between the short pin and the wedge on the long arm. Then pull to bend

Thanks for the bender pics, Jim. I missed the meeting at Tom Davenhall's due to illness and missed my chance to measure his hold-down tool in order to try and build it. I made some drawings last year, but got home and couldn't decipher the linkages and of course, the drawings were way out of scale. I heard a rumor that you might have some plans or drawings. If that is true, can you post them? Keeping things from hopping away while I chisel or punch is still a bugaboo for me.
