Shop Air Piping

I have wanted to add air piping to several locations in my shop, but have been intimidated by the safety issue with PVC and with my unfamiliarity with doing it in iron or copper pipe. In the September issue of "American Woodworker" there is an article on doing it with flexible hose and I intend to try it.

If anyone is interested I could make a photocopy of the article for myself and cut out the original article and put it into a binder for the library.

Shop piping

I am! I have piped my little shop with black iron for propane. It went well, but I admit I had qualified help. My next project is to pipe compressed air with outlets throughout. I was planning on black iron also, but am not stuck on that.

Plumbing Your Shop for Compressed Air

Anyone interested in plumbing their shop for compressed air should not miss the November meeting at my shop. I will explain the materials to use and those to AVOID.

Black iron pipe works fine for propane and natural gas but is the wrong choice compressed air, unless you have an air dryer for the entire system.

I will explain air dryers, brass fittings,PVC,flex pipe etc.

And I hope to show you some good forging also.
