About Alex Bealer Blacksmith Association

The Alex Bealer Blacksmithing Association exists to teach blacksmithing arts and techniques, further the art of blacksmithing, and increase public awareness and appreciation of the blacksmithing craft. The association is in the North Georgia area and welcomes hobbyists, amateurs, and professionals.

We meet on the third Saturday morning of each month at a rotating location, usually the shop site of one of our members. Meetings typically have a short tme of business discussion, followed by a demonstration of a project or technique, and then conclude with iron-in-the-hat and announcements.

Meetings are sometimes followed by workshops, a hands-on time to produce a tool or other item. Past workshops have included a guillotine tool and gas forges.

Occasionally the association sponsors fieldtrips to local blacksmithing events of interest. The association also gives a limited number of scholarships to its members to attend classes and conferences.

Alex Bealer Blacksmith Association is the North Georgia affiliate chapter of ABANA, the Artist Blacksmith Association of North America.
